Deepika Padukone shares more details about struggling with depression

Deepika Padukone is undoubtedly one of the successful actors in Bollywood who has carved a niche for herself in the industry. She has a career worth envying, but with your career being at its peak, there come a lot of consequences too. Deepika, in a recent interview, with an eminent magazine, openly talked about her struggle and journey with depression once again. She stated that she was suffering from depression in 2014 and shared how she steadily grew out of it. Read to know about it in detail.
Deepika Padukone's struggle with depression
Deepika, in the interview, stated that the phase of depression was the worst phase of her life that she had experienced. She also explained how her mother helped her immensely to make her realize that she was experiencing something which cannot be ignored, that is depression and then helped her grow out of it through medical help.
The Piku actor said that her mother used to travel back and forth from her place to Deepika's, which had become a usual thing for them. But what was unusual was the sudden breakdown of Deepika's which made her mother realise that she needs medical help. Deepika never mentioned these feelings to her parents as they did not live with her and she did not want to bother them.
With the help of her family, especially her mother, Deepika was able to realise that she needs professional help for her mental health and wellbeing. The doctors told her that she was suffering from "Clinical Depression", and the acknowledgement itself was the first step towards growing out of it for Padukone.
The actor did not want to keep her journey with depression to herself and wanted to help others who like her, cannot figure out what is wrong with them. So, for this, she set up a foundation named Live, Love, Laugh and is extremely grateful to have gotten the opportunity to let her emotions out and speak out loud about her journey.
