Bollywood Bengalis are no exception when it comes to the excitement of Durga Pujo. With the grand celebration of the auspicious occasion, Bengalis around the world are marooned in the ongoing celebratory fever. Former Bollywood actress Sushmita Sen also joined the celebration as she was spotted performing the traditional dhunuchi dance with her daughters Renee and Alisah in front of the Notunpolli Durgotsav Pandal, in Bandra, Mumbai. 

In a recent Instagram video shared by the actress, she can be seen dancing holding an incandescent earthen pot stacked with coconut husk and camphor with her elder daughter Renee, and later joined by younger daughter Alisah. In the video, Sen and her daughters are seen wearing traditional outfits, while the actress donned a saree, her daughters were also seen sporting ethnic attires.

Sharing the post on Instagram, on Wednesday, October 17, Sen captioned the post as saying, "#dhunuchinaach 💃🏻😍🎵What a #divine feeling dancing with my babies in celebration of #shakti 😊❤️ May the #incense burn strong & spread #positivity #love #hope & #kindness where ever it flows!!!🙏❤️😍 #notunpollidurgotsav #sharing #happiness#duggadugga 💃🏻🎉😇 I love you guys!!!"

Dhunuchi naach is an integral part of the festival. As per the rituals, devotees groove to the sound of the 'Dhak' holding the earthen pot, which is lit with fire and constant evolving smoke, in order to please Goddess Durga. Beside ritualistic explanations, it is a must in the Durga Puja celebration as it adds up to the festive mode.

However, on Wednesday, October 17, devotees around the world observed Durga Ashtami or Maha Ashtami, which is one of the most auspicious days of ten days long Durga Puja Festival. Amitabh Bachchan also joined the Puja celebrations, with wife Jaya Bachchan and daughter Shweta Bachchan Nanda. 

The trio was spotted offering flowers to Goddess Durga during 'Anjali'. They were all seen in traditional outfits. While Bachchan wore 'Kurta-Pajama', Jaya and Shweta carried the typical Bengali look wearing sarees.
