Zaira in July had announced that she was unhappy about acting in films, and informed her followers of a ‘dissociation’ from the industry. The ‘Dangal’ actor called it ‘exhausting’ to be associated with a profession ‘consistently interfered’ with her ‘imaan’, and one that ‘threatened’ her relationship with her religion.

Before ‘The Sky is Pink’, Zaira has left an impression in her both her films, ‘Dangal’, where she had played the role of Aamir Khan’s daughter. She then starred in ‘Secret Superstar’, again an Aamir Khan production. She fetched awards galore for both her films.
