In a chat with Siddharth Kanan, Luv shared that the yesteryear star struggled when he first came to Mumbai with a dream to be an actor. He said that there were times when Shotgun had to choose between travelling by bus for his meetings or saving money for food. He would opt to walk miles and save money for his food.

Luv concluded, “There were times when he was at his peak that our house, even though small at that time, was filled with people. And then when his films were not working, no one would be around. I have seen both the rise and the fall, closely."

In the same interview, Luv was asked about the rivalry between Amitabh Bachchan and Shatrughan Sinha. To this, he replied, he was young and didn't know much about what happened between the two. He added his father respects the superstar and the Bachchan family.
