Gadar 2 vs OMG 2 Box Office: Sunny's film earns 3 times more than Akshay's in 1st weekend

Gadar 2 and OMG 2 have propelled the box office business to record numbers over the past weekend. The twin success of the films has proved to be a boon for the Bollywood box office. Here's how the latest Bollywood releases fared at the box office over the first weekend.

OMG 2 and Gadar 2 success twin win for box office

For Bollywood, the twin success of Gadar 2 and OMG 2 is a good signal. Cumulative they collected upwards of Rs 178 crore over the first weekend. Gadar 2 had started off on a flying note and saw good growth over Saturday and Sunday. OMG 2, which opened on limited screens and faced stiff competition from the Sunny Deol starrer and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, saw healthy growth.

According to trade analyst Sumit Kadel, OMG 2's first-weekend collection stands at Rs 43.11 crore. For Gadar 2 the numbers were Rs 134.88 crore in the first three days. 

Box office boost with Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani collection

Add to the cumulative figure of Gadar 2 and OMG 2 the collection of Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, the weekend box office figures stood at Rs 188 crore plus, which is a good sign for the Bollywood box office. Despite the excellent running of Akshay Kumar and Sunny Deol's films, RARKPK has managed to stand its ground in the third weekend.
