How the makers came up with the idea for Gadar 2?
In a recent interview with Lallantop Cinema, Shaktimaan was asked about the unexpected decision of making a sequel to Gadar, nearly 23 years after its release. The writer stated that the makers always wanted to do a second part but never got the right story for it. He said, “We always wanted to make a sequel to Gadar but couldn’t come up with an idea. As the story of the film is about Tara Singh and his family and he came back to India at the end of the first movie, we couldn’t think of a reason why he would go back to Pakistan.”
However, Shaktimaan was suddenly struck by the perfect idea one day and he went to discuss it with the director Anil Sharma. He liked the idea in first go which was then brought up to the actor Sunny Deol and then the producers. Everyone was on board with the sequel and that’s how they started working on Gadar 2.
