Gadar star Utkarsh Sharma opens up about Gadar 3 plans: "Writer Shaktimaan ji had..."

August 11 saw the clash of two big sequels - Gadar 2 and OMG 2, with both films emerging successful at the box office. Gadar 2, in particular, has witnessed record-smashing collections over the nation, having collected 132 crores net in 3 days. Now as the reports surface about a further sequel addition to the Gadar franchise, Gadar 2 actor Utkarsh Sharma has opened up on the discussions that took place between the makers.

Writer had teased us about Gadar 3 story: Utkarsh Sharma

Utkarsh Sharma stars in the Gadar sequel, along with Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel, where he plays Tara Singh’s son Charanjeet aka Jeete. In an interaction with DNA India, Sharma recently dropped a hint about Gadar 2 makers considering planning Gadar 3. He said, “Ek baar Shaktimaan ji ne tease zaroor kiya hoga, pata nahi script kab okay hogi (Shaktimaan ji had surely teased us about a story for Gadar 3 once, but we have no idea when the script will be okayed by everyone).”

The actor further stated that between the story for Gadar and Gadar 2, 20 years had passed in the timeline. He added, “Perhaps in Gadar 3, Jeete too would have kids, Sunny Deol’s character would be the grandfather, and the characters of all 3 generations could be seen singing and dancing together.”

Meanwhile, Gadar 2 is expected to add another 33 crores on Monday, taking the national box-office figure to ₹167 crores. Gadar 2 was made with an estimated budget of ₹80 crores. The film, within 4 days of release, has emerged as Sunny Deol's most successful film at the box office.
