Ghoomer director R Balki jokingly says Saiyami Kher can give competition to Virat Kohli

Saiyami Kher starrer Ghoomer is all set to release on August 18. The film is a sports drama in which the actress plays the role of a left-handed cricketer. At the trailer launch event of the movie, the actress talked about training for her character. In response, Balki pulled her leg and made a comment about Virat Kohli.

Saiyami Kher says she can win a game against her boyfriends

The trailer launch event of Ghoomer was held on August 4 in Mumbai. At the event, the actress shared she had to go through extensive training to get in the skin of the character. She told the media, “What I liked about this is that I could train professionally in cricket for the first time. Murali Kartik came to train me with my left arm bowling. And I can tell all my boyfriends now that I can take your cricket in the first three balls.”

While Saiyami talked about her training, the director of the film, R Balki assured the audience that she has emerged as a great cricket player. He quipped that she can now make Virat Kohli lose a match with her bowling prowess. The actress replied, “Yeh balki sir ne bol diya. Virat Kohli is the best cricketer right now. Unko out kar paayi toh 'Ghoomer' ki chandi ho jaayegi.” Her co-star Abhishek Bachchan also complimented her cricket skills and claimed, “I dare anyone to face six balls from Saiyami and not get out."

At the event, Saiyami also spilt beans about the director, R Balki. She asserted that he is a sports enthusiast and his love for cricket is unmatched. She exclaimed, “Balki sir is someone who wants to come to shoot a cricket film, finish quickly so he can go and watch a cricket match. His house is made up of cricket gear."
