'Good Newwz': Diljit shares his experience of working with Kareena

Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh who made his Bollywood debut opposite Kareena Kapoor Khan in Udta Punjab is reportedly a huge fan of her. He often refers to Kareena as ‘Queen’ and has also sung a song Kylie+Kareena which impressed the diva immensely. Diljit will now be seen sharing screen space with Bebo in his upcoming movie Good Newwz. Apart from the two, the cast of the movie also includes Akshay Kumar and Kabir Singh actor Kiara Advani.

About his role in 'Good Newwz'

In an interview with a news media, Diljit spoke about how he still gets nervous while talking to Kareena. He also said that the actress is fun to work with. Complementing the actor for her acting skills, Dosanjh mentioned that she can re-do any scene without losing her spontaneity. The Punjabi singer also referred to Kareena as his best co-star till date and an amazing human being. About his choice in movies, Diljit stated that because he wouldn’t do a film where he has to remove his turban, his options get narrowed down. He revealed that his role in Good Newwz was not originally of a Punjabi guy. However, the makers loved his past work and hence decided to cast him in the movie.

The song that Diljit sang, Kylie+Kareena, featured Kareena’s name in it, and Bebo was reportedly very impressed by him. In a video shared by Diljit on Instagram, Kareena Kapoor Khan can be seen complimenting Dosanjh and saying that the song has made her his fan. In the video, Bebo can be seen saying that although they have done two films together, Diljit doesn’t speak a lot and that is what she likes about him. She went on to say that Dosanjh has done a great job in Good Newwz, which is their second movie together. Even though the duo is working together in the upcoming movie, they will not be paired opposite each other.

Diljit Dosanjh is paired opposite Kiara Advani, while Bebo will be seen with Akshay Kumar. Diljit and Kiara play the role of a married couple who are trying for a baby. Kareena and Akshay will be seen together for the first time after almost a decade. The duo worked together in movies like Kambakkht Ishq, Tahsan, Aitraaz, Bewafaa, to name a few. Kareena and Khiladi Kumar also play a married couple who are trying to have a baby. Good Newwz is a family drama, with an equal mix of romance and comedy. While introducing the film, last year, Karan Johar stated that the genre of the movie is termed as a ‘dramedy,’ a comedy-drama. Director Raj Mehta is reportedly tackling the subject of surrogacy in the movie.

Good Newwz is produced by Dharma Productions & Zee Studios. The movie is written by Jyoti Kapoor, Raj Mehta, and Rishabh Sharma. Good Newwz was slated to hit the theatres in either July or September. However, it will now release on December 27, 2019. Earlier, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt's Brahmastra was supposed to release on this date. However, the film's release got postponed to next year.
