Housefull 4: Rana Daggubati to play an antagonist in the comedy film
Housefull 4 will mark the first comedy film of actor Rana Daggubati. The film will be helmed by Farhad Samji and will also star Akshay Kumar in the lead role
Rana Daggubati has carved an impressive niche for himself in the film fraternity through his versatile performances. The Baahubali actor is known for his intense roles in Bollywood and the South Indian film industry. But the actor had not forayed into the comedy genre. The actor will soon be seen in the film Housefull 4, which will be his first foray into a comedy film. Farhad Samji helms the film. It stars Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Kriti Sanon and Bobby Deol in the lead roles. The first posters of the film were recently unveiled by the makers which were received well by the masses.
Rana Daggubati has never been part of a comedy film before
Rana Daggubati had earlier revealed in an interview that he had never even done a solo comedy film. The actor further said he was never approached by the filmmakers to be a part of a comedy film. Rana Daggubati was reportedly roped in to be a part of the movie after Nana Patekar opted out owing to the sexual harassment allegations against him by actor Tanushree Datta. Rana Daggubati also admitted that he instantly agreed to be a part of the film as he found the story extremely funny.
Rana Daggubati revealed that he does not mind being a part of multi-starrer films
Rana further added that he was excited to share the screen space with Akshay Kumar in the movie. The actor was recently quipped in an interview on being part of a multi-starrer film like Housefull 4. Rana revealed that he does not mind being a part of multi-starrer films. He added that it is fun to work with actors like Akshay Kumar, even if it is a multi-starrer project. He also said that working with different actors only tend to expand your knowledge. Rana Daggubati will also be seen in some interesting line of films ahead. He will be seen in films like Haathi Mere Saathi, Virataparyam and Hiranya Kashyap. The actor will also be seen in the much-anticipated film Bhuj: The Pride Of India which will also star Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, Parineeti Chopra and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead role.
