IIFA 2019: Nushrat Bharucha on what she'd change for women in B-town

Aamchi Mumbai saw a glittering, starry night filled with awards, fun, and performances as the 20th Edition of Indian Film Awards was held in the city last night. The who's who of Bollywood gathered under one roof to celebrate their achievements. The star-studded night hosted by Ayushmann and Aparshakti Khurrana witnessed a number of stellar appearances, including that of Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, among others. In fact, several celebrities including Sara Ali Khan, Salman Khan, Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal, Madhuri Dixit-Nene and Katrina Kaif, among others, graced the stage to deliver some stellar performances.
Before the event started Republic TV, in an exclusive interview with Nushrat Bharucha at the green carpet spoke about the success of her recent film, 'Dream Girl', the actress' favourite female lead of all times, and the one thing she would like to change for women in the entertainment industry
Nushrat on one thing she would like to change for women in the entertainment industry:
When asked about the one thing that she would like to change in the entertainment industry as far as women are concerned, Nushrat replied, “I’d like to say, let’s not make ourselves the victim. Let's not do that. The minute you do that, you give the power away.”
Nushrat on her favourite female leads:
We then asked who her favourite female leads are of all times, to which she said, “Madhubala ji, Kajol, Madhuri (Dixit) ma’am, Smita Patil,”
On 'Dream Girl':
Speaking about the film, she exulted, “I’m feeling outstanding, amazing. I think both Ayush (Ayushmann) and I, when we heard the narration, we knew this film is going to be a big film. I’m just really glad that our sensibilities are correct, and we have entertained the audiences tremendously. So yay!”
