'In happier times...': Kajol remembers late father-in-law Veeru Devgan with an emotional post

Ajay Devgn's father, veteran filmmaker Veeru Devgan passed away due to cardiac arrest on May 27th in Mumbai. Following the same, on Tuesday, June 4, Kajol penned an emotional note remembering her father-in-law and "happier times" with him.

Ajay Devgn's father, veteran filmmaker Veeru Devgan passed away due to cardiac arrest on May 27th in Mumbai. Several celebrities from the film industry expressed solidarity with the Devgn family after the death of Ajay’s father, veteran action director Veeru Devgan on Monday. Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Rakesh Roshan, Rani Mukerji, Karan Johar, Arjun Kapoor, Boney Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan were seen spotted at the family’s residence to offer their condolences to the family.

Following the same, on Tuesday, June 4, Kajol penned an emotional note remembering her father-in-law and "happier times" they have spent together. Sharing a picture with Veeru Devgan from the day he was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award, on Instagram, she wrote, "In happier times. He won the award for a lifetime of achievement on this day but it took a lifetime to prove. So many people mourn the life of the man but that was a life well lived... RIP with love."

Renowned action director Veeru Devgan was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai after he complained of breathing issues. He later suffered a cardiac arrest and passed away on May 27 at the age of 77. The late stunt-director has reportedly choreographed action scenes in more than 80 films including 'Hindustan Ki Kasam', where his son Ajay played the lead alongside Amitabh Bachchan. He was also the producer of the film. His much-known works include films like-  Inkaar (1977), Mr. Natwarlal (1979), Kranti (1981), Himmatwala (1983), Shahenshah (1988), Tridev (1989), Baap Numbri Beta Dus Numbri (1990), Phool Aur Kaante (1991), Roti Kapda Aur Makaan (1974) and more.

Recently, his son Ajay Devgn revealed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended condolences to the Devgan family. On Monday, Ajay put out a post on Twitter, unveiling the PM's letter. PM Modi praised the late action director for his "personal daredevilry."
