On Independence Day 2019, Varun Dhawan draws reference to 'Mile Sur Mera Tumhara' to hail the largest democracy in the world.
As India stepped in the 72nd year of Independence, Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan put out a post on social media celebrating the day. The actor posted a picture of himself on social media with the national flag and wished everybody a very happy Independence Day.
He hailed India for being 'the largest democracy in the world where so many beautiful religions live In harmony'. Further drawing refference to the iconic patriotic song 'Mile Sur Mera Tumhara', he said, "let’s show the world ‘mile sur mera tumhara toh sur bane humara’ #jaihind"

Not just Varun, several other Bollywood stars including Vicky Kaushal, Ayushmann Khurrana and others have also extended Independence day greetings to their fans on social media posting pictures with the tricolor.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Varun is currently shooting for his upcoming venture 'Coolie No. 1' in Bangkok. The film is an adaptation of timeless comedy of the same name starring Govinda and Karisma Kapoor.
This is the second time Varun is collaborating with his father director David Dhawan for a film after 2017 venture 'Judwa2'. Varun will be seen romancing current sensation Sara Ali Khan in the movie. As per media reports, David has reunited with filmmaker Vashu Bhagnani for the upcoming project shooting for which started earlier this month.
