Indian couple marry in lavish Bollywood-themed event at Disneyland
A London-based Indian couple got married at Disneyland, Paris in a lavish ceremony that brought the best of Bollywood and Disney together earlier this month.
Paris is the known as the city of love, and people wanting to go on their knees and pop the question at the Eiffel Tower is a dream for many. However, an Indian couple, based in London, who were well past this phase, showed that it wasn’t just for a proposal, Paris could be a beautiful place to get married at as well. What’s more interesting is that this pair brought their love for Bollywood and Disney together in a royal ceremony.

As per a media report, Varun Bhanot and Anisha Seth, both 29 years old, got married in a lavish ceremony at the Disneyland, Paris earlier this month. The couple thus became the first to merge the worlds of Disney and Bollywood in an elaborate event at the venue.
Similar to star Bollywood couples like Deepika Padukone-Ranveer Singh, Priyanka Chopra-Nick Jonas, who had multiple weddings, the former having Hindu and Sikh rituals while the latter got married according to Hindu and Christian rituals, Varun-Anisha first said ‘I Do’at the Sleeping Beauty Castle, before tying the knot as per Hindu rituals.
An Aladdin-themed banquet would have mesmerised the 350 guests, while Middle Eastern and Indian cuisine only added to the grandeur. Anisha wore four different outfits throughout the events, that included the white gown and lehengas.
The couple had the best of Disney, be it Micky and Minnie Mouse, Goofy and other characters, while dancing together, their first as a couple, or the traditional Bhangra dance. They even enjoyed the rides, which was a treat for the kids and all the guests.
Be it the ‘Baaraat’ arriving in an open car, cutting the cake with a sword, a grand Bollywood-style gathering or a Moulin Rouge-themed disco bash, there was definitely no stone that was left unturned.
Anisha described the wedding as ‘amazing but tiring’, and something never seen before, feeling assured that the guests had a lovely time. For someone who’s favourite films are ‘Cinderella’ and ‘The Lion King’, Anisha called the wedding their ‘happily ever after’.
Speaking about why they thought about such an idea, Varun said that Paris being the city of love and both of them being Disney fans since they could remember were the main reasons, and most importantly, they wanted something different. They planned the event for a year, with regular visits to the venue for discussion. Though the wedding packages at Disneyland start range from USD 28,406 and USD 48,824, Disneyland ensured they got a fair deal.
Proposal even grander
Varun is an entreprenuer, while he and Anisha, are into event organising and run a charity. They have been in a relationship for five years. Varun popped the question to Anisha by taking her on a helicopter ride, and as they reached a wheat field, the crop circle was what he showed to ask her to marry him. At that time, the event had made big headlines.
