The Irishman, written by Steven Zaillian, is a cinematic adaptation of Charles Brandt's book, I Heard You Paint Houses'. The film revolves around Frank ‘The Irishman’ Sheeran, a union official with a connection to the mafia and depicts how he rose to his position as a hitman. In the movie, he is seen spending his life alone as he gets accused for the murder of his friend and controversial union leader, Jimmy Hoffa, on the command of the Bufalino crime family. The Irishman was a veteran from World War II and met Hoffa while both of them were in their thirties. Sheeran was introduced to Hoffa as a hitman. Hoffa gradually gets very close to Sheeran and his family, especially his daughter. In the end, he gets betrayed and murdered. The film is produced and directed by Martin Scorsese.

The official trailer of the movie came out on September 26, 2019. The trailer has over 5 million views. It starts with a conversation between Hoffa and Sheeran, who are talking to each other for the first time, and then cuts to scenes of crime and murders. Cast
The lead cast includes Robert De Niro as Frank "The Irishman" Sheeran, Al Pacino as James Riddle "Jimmy" Hoffa, and Joe Pesci as Russell Bufalino. Robert De Niro and Al Pacino have worked together in The Godfather: Part 2. They have also worked together in a few other movies.
Release date
The movie released in theatres in the US on November 1, 2019. It was officially announced by Netflix that the movie will air on the platform from November 27, 2019. It is one of the most highly anticipated movies among fans.
