'It's very stressful': Zareen Khan accuses ex-manager Anjali Atha of abusing and threatening her, FIR filed

Zareen Khan has filed a police complaint against her former manager Anjali Atha, accusing the latter of abusing and threatening her. The actress approached the Khar police station in Mumbai on Thursday, following which an FIR was registered under section 509 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), as per reports.

Anjali reportedly abused Zareen over a monetary dispute allegedly over not paying her salary for the last two-three months. The actress reportedly claimed to have told her manager over her inability to pay the salary due to her lack of projects. However, the latter allegedly threatened and abused the actress over text messages. The actress has since ended Anjali's services.   

The manager has claimed that Zareen called her a ‘thief’, as per reports. The actress’ manager Rizwan Siddiquee said that the decision to file the FIR was to protect his client’s ‘name, image and reputation’ which he claimed was being ‘openly tarnished’ by her manager, whom she ‘trusted unconditionally.’ He added that Zareen has been dealing with the matter seriously and that a woman’s dignity is immense and that it shouldn’t be damaged by ‘character assassination’.       

The actress was quoted as saying that the entire controversy has been ‘very stressful’ to her and her family.

On the professional front, Zareen was last seen in the movie '1921'. She was paired opposite Karan Kundrra in the film, which was directed, produced and written by Vikram Bhatt. The movie had released in January this year. She had also appeared on the show ‘MTV Troll Police’ this year. 

The actress’ debut was much talked-about opposite Salman Khan in the Anil Sharma-directed period drama ‘Veer.’ She also featured with the superstar in a song 'Character Dheela Hai' from Anees Bazmee's movie ‘Ready.’ However, they haven't shared screen space since the two films.

'Housefull 2’ opposite Akshay Kumar in 2012 and the erotic thriller ‘Hate Story 3’ also starring Sharman Joshi, Daisy Shah, Karan Singh Grover, were among the other successful movies she has starred in her career.
