Jersey: Makers finalise female lead opposite Shahid Kapoor, netizens celebrate choice

After the stupendous success of Kabir Singh, Shahid Kapoor is gearing up for his next, remake of Telugu film Jersey. While the film has managed to garner appreciation for its gripping story-line and star cast, the makers have finalized the female lead against the actor and it is none other than Super 30 actress Mrunal Thakur. With her fabulous performance in the Hrithik Roshan starrer , the young actress left many viewers awed. After makers of the remake made the announcement, many social media users celebrated the choice. In an interview with a leading media publication, Thakur claimed that she has watched the original film and just cannot contain her excitement as she has bagged the role. Stating that she watched the film twice in a row, Mrunal says that she was deeply impacted and she could not get it out of her heart the whole night.
