John Abraham Will Not Celebrate The Success of 'Satyameva Jayate' Due To The Kerala Floods

Adding to the nation's patriotic fevour, John Abraham's film 'Satyamev Jayate' hit screens on August 15. Despite a clash with the much anticipated Akshay Kumar starrer 'Gold', 'Satyamev Jayate' won over the audiences. The film went on to rake in approximately Rs. 18.50 crore net on its first day and has earned Rs. 37.62 crores in just 3 days. However, John has decided to not celebrate the film's success due to the devastating floods in Kerala.

Torrential rains wrecked havoc in Kerala claiming the lives of at least 324 people so far. Over three lakh people were moved to relief camps after the state faced its worst floods in past 100 years. Following the mass destruction on the state, actor John Abraham has decided against holding any celebratory events for the success of his last release 'Satyameva Jayate'.

The actor said, "I am overwhelmed by all the adulation from the paisa paying public as well as the industry at large. Everyone is asking me when are we celebrating but, for me it’s business as usual as I’m shooting in Gulmarg for my next film. In any case I am devastated by the unprecedented situation in Kerala. I have family there and although they are safe so many others are still suffering."

'Satyamev Jayate's seems to be having an unstoppable box office run. The film has been appreciated by critics and audiences alike and has gone on to become John's highest opener so far. The Milap Zaveri directorial continues to hold strong at the box-office and has collected a total of Rs. 37.62 crores in just 3 days. The film is also the highest opener for an 'A' rated action film. While many would say that this certainly calls for a celebration, the actor who is currently shooting in Gulmarg for Robbie Grewal’s espionage thriller, 'RAW: Romeo Akbar Walter', has decided to celebrate the film's success.

'Satyameva Jayate' directed by Milap Milan Zaveri, is produced by T-Series and Emmay Entertainment. The film also stars Manoj Bajpayee and Amruta Khanvilkar among others.

Meanwhile, John will next be seen in 'RAW: Romeo Akbar Walter' plays a secret agent in the film which also stars Sikandar Kher in a negative role.
