Johnny Lever was born in Andhra Pradesh and brought up at King's Circle in Mumbai. He dropped out of school after completing seventh grade due to financial problems. To fill his stomach, he did odd jobs like imitating Bollywood stars and dancing to their songs. He was good at mimicry and was invited to perform at the factory he worked. He gained a lot of fame and joined the Kalyanji-Anandji group. He was later spotted by Sunil Dutt and offered the movie Dard Ka Rishta. Thus began the career of one of the best comedy performers in the Indian film industry.
