Kangana Ranaut's spat with a PTI journalist during a promotional event for the film 'Judgementall Hai Kya' has intrigued a massive controversy with Entertainment Journalists Guild of India deciding to boycott the actress. Following the same, Indian Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit took to Twitter to back the actress and stated that the journalists who are on the pay-roll of production houses are often gifted 'expensive laptops, mobiles, and trips abroad'. He then went on to say that this kind of corruption should be fought before asking for an apology from an industry.

In another tweet, the co-producer of 'The Accidental Prime Minister' posed a question in front of the netizens asking them if the film journalists with the left have openly abused national filmmakers and so they have no right to demand an apology before they become true journalists.

Meanwhile, Manager and sister of Kangana Ranaut, Rangoli Chandel took to social media to inform that the actress' lawyer Rizwan Siddiquee has sent an official statement to the Guild. In the letter, it is mentioned that the 'so-called unprofessional journalists' seek to use public platform on every given opportunity, to illegally and criminally harass any celebrity, including the said client".

The Entertainment Journalists Guild of India demanded a public apology from both Kapoor and Ranaut after the actress allegedly misbehaved with journalists present at Tuesday's press conference.  "We, as a guild, have collectively decided to boycott Ms. Ranaut and not give her any media coverage," the delegation said in its letter to Kapoor, adding that the boycott will not affect the film or the rest of the cast.

The members said in the letter that Ranaut had lashed out at the journalist even before he could complete the question he was asking at the press conference to promote the film on the pretext that he was running a "smear campaign" against her.
