It is common to see Bollywood stars' party pictures and videos going viral after every such gathering. However, one such party video recently went viral for a ‘wrong’ reason, with the accusation that celebrities were consuming drugs, made by Shiromani Akali Dal leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa. Karan Johar, the host of the party, once again expressed his disapproval over the allegations made on him and his friends which included Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Varun Dhawan, Malaika Arora, Arjun Kapoor and others. Karan Johar has now said that his reaction to the controversy went down from being angry to amused. Vicky Kaushal stated that he didn’t know that scratching of the nose meant ‘drugs.’
Karan Johar, Vicky Kaushal slam allegations
At a recent media event, Karan Johar quipped that apparently one can’t scratch one’s nose, referring to Vicky Kaushal’s gesture being alluded to the consumption of ‘drugs.’ He also asked if he’d be ‘stupid’ to post a video of substance abuse. The ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ director said that his mother Hiroo Johar was also in the same room. Karan Johar said that he was ‘angered’ with the responses initially. Later, he was ‘amused’ when people started ‘analysing substances.’ He also quipped that the ‘lines’ that people talked about were marble lines. Karan Johar stated that if such allegations are made again, he will deal with the matter strictly.
Vicky Kaushal was also present at the same event and said earlier that he had attended the party after staying at home for 10 days due to dengue. The ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’ actor said that Karan Johar’s mother Hiroo Johar had put ‘gangaajal’ on them that day. Vicky also said that the video that was finally posted was not the first they shot and since it was after many videos where they were enthusiastic, they seemed tired in this one.
Controversy
Shiromani Akali Dal leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa, sharing the video on Twitter, had written, “#UDTABollywood - Fiction Vs Reality. Watch how the high and mighty of Bollywood proudly flaunt their drugged state!! I raise my voice against #DrugAbuse by these stars. RT if you too feel disgusted.”
He also sent a letter to the Mumbai Police demanding that an FIR be registered against the celebrities.
