Kareena Kapoor rejected Saif Ali Khan's proposal twice before marriage

Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s fairytale love story started on the sets of Tashan (2008). The two started dating in 2008, were in a relationship for five years before they tied the knot on October 16, 2012. However, during an interview, Kareena Kapoor Khan once revealed that initially, the actress rejected Saif’s marriage proposal twice.
Kareena Rejected Saif’s Proposal
Kareena Kapoor Khan said that Saif proposed to her thrice in Paris. In fact, she also mentioned that Saif Ali Khan’s father (Indian cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan) proposed to his mother (actress Sharmila Tagore) in Paris as well during the shoot of An Evening in Paris. When Saif Ali Khan asked Kareena Kapoor Khan to marry him, the actress couldn’t say no. But she revealed that before saying yes to Saif’s marriage proposal, she had said no to him twice.
Kareena stated that the first time was when they were at a bar in Paris and she said no instantly. That was the first time he ever asked Kareena to marry him. The second time was during the same trip when the two actors were at the Notre Dame. But, this time, Kareena said that they should not be talking about it at the time. This was because she was too focused on her career back then and needed time to think about it. But then, in about a day or two, the actress couldn’t resist and said yes to Saif Ali Khan. Mrs. Khan, when asked if husband Saif got down on one knee to propose, laughed and said that Saif Ali Khan has just created his image that way. In real life, Saif is far from that.
The Royal Wedding
Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan had a royal wedding. The functions for their wedding were spread over a week. This included all functions – sangeet, mehendi, haldi, etc. Along with the huge Punjabi wedding, there was also a formal registration that took place at Saif Ali Khan’s residence. However, the couple exchanged vows at the Taj Mahal hotel in Mumbai. The two have a son, Taimur Ali Khan who was born on December 20, 2016.
