Katrina Kaif has shut down the gossip mills that went on an overdrive over the similarities between the love life of her character in Shah Rukh Khan's ‘Zero’ and rumoured real-life break-up with Ranbir Kapoor.

The actress' character Babita Kumari brooding over her on-and-off relationship with Abhay Deol was connected to her relationship with Ranbir. Moreover, the character’s surname Kapoor, didn’t go unnoticed.

For those who have not the movie, this song ‘Heer Badnaam’ gives a sneak-peek into that aspect of her character.

When asked if she took inspiration from the real incident for the film in a recent interview, the ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ star said she expected people to connect the dots between her reel and real-love life.  However, she was convinced that people won’t be able to link the two because the pitch of her character is different to who she is in reality. Katrina added that she wouldn’t behave in the manner her on-screen avatar does, which she termed as ‘outlandish.’

The actress in another interview had stated how Babita was ‘out there,’ loud and one who doesn’t internalise her emotions. Katrina revealed she found the character difficult as she’s always saying things that are ‘unrelatable.’ In real life, the ‘Bharat’ star said she is extremely subtle, thus making the two completely opposite personalities. She had even gone on to term the character as ‘fake’.

'Zero', apart from mixed reviews, has 'underperformed' at the box office, earning close to Rs 85 crore at the box office in week one, according to reports. Katrina, however, has been lauded almost unanimously and many called it the finest performance of her career.
