Akshay Kumar has been one of the standout stars in Bollywood over the last decade or so. The action hero has been making some big bucks with his patriotic-themed hits in the last few years. His recent release, Mission Mangal, did well at the box office  and collected a total of Rs.197.37 crore over the first 25 days. The ‘Rowdy Rathore’ star has a lot of good relations within Bollywood but there are a few people who have a special bond with the star. Read further to find out Khiladi Kumar’s hidden Bollywood connections.

Akshay Kumar and Ranveer Singh

The veteran actor first appeared alongside the flamboyant Ranveer Singh in the recent season of ‘Koffee with Karan’. The duo immediately displayed a welcoming camaraderie which had audiences begging for more. The fans got what they wanted when Akshay Kumar played a cameo role in ‘Simmba’ which starred Ranveer and Sara Ali Khan. Kumar portrayed the role of an anti-terrorist squad (ATS) officer - Veer Suryavanshi. The ‘Mission Mangal’ star is set to work with Rohit Shetty in a which he will play the cop. An interesting fact was that Akki’s name in the film also has a Salman Khan connection. Bhai did a film titled called Suryavanshi in 1992 followed by Veer in 2010. When you combine both film titles, we get the name Veer-Suryavanshi, the same name of the character Akshay plays in the cameo.


Kriti Sanon’s connection with Akshay Kumar

Kriti Sanon made her Bollywood debut alongside Tiger Shroff in the action-flick ‘Heropanti’. Sanon, who starred in ‘Luka Chhupi’ alongside Kartik Aryaan, has managed to establish herself in Bollywood faster than expected. Sanon recently signed a new film titled ‘Arjun Patiala’ alongside Punjabi actor - Diljit Dosanjh. In a recent interview, Kriti revealed that she has immense respect for Akshay Kumar. 

“I think the way he lives his life in such a disciplined way is what I admire the most in him,” Kriti said in a recent interview.

Kriti spoke about an interesting moment she shared with the veteran superstar. The ‘Heropanti’ actor said that Akshay had once told her that he has not missed a single sunrise in his life. Kriti also added that she wants to imitate Akshay Kumar’s habit of taking some time off despite working all throughout the year. How she manages to do that, is something that will be interesting for us to see.

Chunky Pandey turns teacher for Akshay Kumar

Khiladi Kumar revealed that veteran Bollywood actor - Chunky Pandey - shared a rather intimate connection with him during his formative years as an actor. Akki said that ‘Housefull’ co-star Chunky Pandey used to be an instructor in the former’s acting school three decades ago. Akki added that he used to look up to Chunky Pandey in his early days as well. Read certain excerpts from the interview.


"The place where Chunky Pandey sahab used to learn acting, he used to be my senior there. When I used to go there as a junior, we used to look up to him and we used to wait for the moment when he would come. His film 'Aag Hi Aag' (1987) had released, which was a super duper hit. I used to be a huge fan of Chunky Pandey," Akshay said at a promotional event for 'Housefull'.
