The winner of the 69th National Film Awards was announced today (August 24), and Kriti Sanon was named Best Actress. The 33-year-old bagged the top honour for her film Mimi, co-starring Pankaj Tripathi. Now, the actress has dropped a long post, expressing her happiness on winning her first National Film Award.

How did Kriti Sanon react to her big win?

The actress took to her Instagram handle and dropped a long post that read, "Elated - Overwhelmed - Grateful. Still sinking it in... pinching myself.. this has actually happened!" Thanking the jury members, the actress wrote, "Thank you to the jury who considered my performance worthy for the most prestigious award! It means the world to me!"

Kriti also thanked producer Dinesh Vijan and director Laxman Utekar for believing him her and standing by her. Before concluding her long Instagram note, she thanked her parents and wrote, "Mom, Dad, Nupur... you guys are my lifeline! Thank you for always being my constant cheerleaders."

Kriti Sanon also congratulated Alia Bhatt with whom she is sharing the Best Actress award. She wrote, "Congratulations Alia! So so well deserved! I've always admired your work and I'm too excited that I get to share this huge moment with you! Yayyyiiee!! Big hug! Let's celebrate." 

Alia Bhatt has won the Best Actress National Award for her portrayal in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Gangubai Kathiawadi. Meanwhile, the award for Best Actor has been bagged by Allu Arjun for his performance in Pushpa. Allu Arjun is the first Telugu actor to bag a National Award.
