Amitabh Bachchan's 77th birthday
Amitabh Bachchan was born on October 11, 1942. The actor is among the best-known and the most respected artists in the country. Bachchan has played a pivotal role in shaping the Indian film industry with some of the best films. In addition to this, he is also a Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan awardee. The most recent addition to his series of awards is his selection for the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. Union Minister Prakash Javadekar selected Bachchan for the award. The Padma Vibhushan was bagged by the actor in 2015. Apart from this, he is also a recipient of four National Film Awards for his roles in 'Agneepath', 'Black', 'Paa' and 'Piku'. He made his acting debut in 1969 with 'Saat Hindustani.'
Fans assembled outside Amitabh Bachchan's bungalow 'Jalsa' in Mumbai's Bandra. Elated fans thronged to the actor's residence with placards and some of them even dressed up like him. Some even took to imitating the actor with dialogues from his best movies.
