Maharashtra Elections: Salman Khan casts vote, shares selfie
As polling began on October 21st, in all 288 Assembly constituencies of Maharashtra, Salman Khan came down to his designated polling station to cast his vote

As the assembly elections in the state of Maharashtra is underway, Bollywood actor Salman Khan arrived at a polling booth in Mumbai to celebrate 'The Festival of Democracy'. Sultan actress Anushka Sharma also came with her family to cast vote. Apart from him, several B-town celebs were also spotted.
Aamir Khan and his wife Kiran Rao were the first few who cast their vote, after which Madhur Bhandarkar, Dia Mirza, John Abraham, Riteish Deshmukh, Dharmendra, and many others followed. As many as 3,237 candidates, including 235 women, are contesting in 288 Assembly seats of the state. Polling was underway since 7 am and will end at 6 pm.

Polling in Maharashtra
Polling is currently underway in Maharashtra, with a voter turnout at 30.7% till 2 PM. Various senior leaders like CM Devendra Fadnavis, the Thackerays, Union Ministers Prakash Javadekar, Piyush Goyal and Smriti Irani were seen voting. Bollywood too came out in big numbers to exercise their democratic right. Many celebrities like the Khans, Deepika Padukone, and more were spotted voting at their respective poll booths.
Maharashtra elections
In Maharashtra, where the 'Mahayuti' alliance of BJP, Shiv Sena and smaller parties is against the 'Maha-agadhi' led by the Congress and the NCP. In the saffron alliance, BJP will be contesting on 150 seats, and Shiv Sena will fight on 124 seats in Maharashtra. Alliance partners of BJP have fielded 14 candidates on the party's lotus symbol. Meanwhile, the Congress is contesting the polls in alliance with the NCP. Both parties are contesting on 125 seats each in the 288-member Assembly and its allies on the remaining 38 seats.
