‘Manikarnika’ team hosts screening for President Ram Nath Kovind; Kangana Ranaut, other celebrities felicitated

The team of ‘Manikarnika’ hosted a special screening of their movie for President Ram Nath Kovind in Delhi on Friday. After the screening, the President felicitated the cast and the crew including lead actress and co-director Kangana Ranaut.

The team of ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ hosted a special screening of their movie for President Ram Nath Kovind in Delhi on Friday. After the screening, the President felicitated the cast and the crew including lead actress and co-director Kangana Ranaut.

Present at the event held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre were Central Board of Film Certification chief Prasoon Joshi, who has penned the lyrics and dialogues of the film,  KV Vijayendra Prasad, who is the writer of the film, and is also known for his son SS Rajamouli’s ‘Baahubali’, Bharatiya Janata Party leader LK Advani. 

In pictures shared by the official Twitter handle, we see the President, his wife Savita Kovind and Advani felicitating Kangana. In the other pictures, we see the celebrities posing on the stage and during their conversations in the premises. Kangana’s sister Rangoli Chandel is also seen in one of the photographs.

Kangana plays the role of Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi, one of the valiant warriors during the 1857 uprising against the British. 

'Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi' has been jointly directed by Kangana and Radha Krishna Jagalramudi aka Krish. The movie, produced by Zee Studios, Kamal Jain and Nishant Patti, also starring Ankita Lokhande, Nihar Pandya, Danny Denzongpa, Atul Kulkarni and Jisshu Sengupta, hits the theatres next Friday, 25 January.
