Mardaani is an action thriller film that focused around a teenage girl Pyaari who was kidnapped. While resolving the case, Rani Mukerji uncovers the secrets of child trafficking by a mafia. The actor plays a dedicated IPS officer Shivani, who chases Delhi-based Karan Rastogi. Karan runs a crime organisation involving drugs and child trafficking. Her determination to catch him leads to a series of painful incidents such as he gets her husband beaten once and Karan sends Pyaari’s finer wrapped in a gift box. Ultimately, Shivani tracks him down in Delhi, and while she is abducted Shivani succeeds in handing over Karan to the girls who mercilessly beat him to death.
