Mardaani 2: Rani Mukerji starrer had crucial parts shot in Rajasthan

Rani Mukerji is set to star in the film Mardaani 2. The film is the second one in the Mardaani series with the first also starring Rani Mukerji in the lead role. The shooting for the film began on March 27, 2019, and pictures from the beginning of the shoot were shared by the production company online. In early May of this year, the shooting was shifted to Rajasthan for some crucial scenes that will take place in the state.

In the first week of May, the cast and crew moved to Rajasthan to shoot some crucial scenes for Mardaani 2. The entirety of May was spent in Rajasthan as the schedule for the shoots were spread out throughout the month. According to the director Gopi Puthran, the scenes in Rajasthan were centered on the hunt for the main villain. Rani played the role of senior inspector Shivani Shivaji Roy in the first Mardaani film and she reprises the same role in the sequel as well. In the film Mardaani 2, Rani's character will have to go to Rajasthan to continue her search for the antagonist.

The director also added that the character of Shivani Shivaji Roy will have to search for the villain throughout the state. Her investigation will lead her to the cities of Jaipur and Kota. The shooting was expected to be physically taxing as they were conducting it in the peak of Summer and Rani also had to shoot some action scenes. The director also said that he and his team were excited to shoot in Rajasthan and were looking forward to the love and cooperation from the people over there.

The shooting in Rajasthan has already been completed as of today. The first Mardaani film had Rani’s character go up against a human trafficking ring in search of her niece’s friend. Mardaani 2’s villain has been described by Rani as a cold and merciless man who is completely evil and has no fear of God. She also said that she found the villain’s character interesting and was excited to know who would play him.

Mardaani 2 is set to release on December 13, 2019. The teaser for Mardaani 2 has already been shared online. The movie is produced by Yash Raj Films. The first Mardaani was a success at the box-office and made a profit, so the sequel is expected to perform similarly.
