Mardaani 2: What you need to know about the new villain of the film?

The upcoming release Mardaani 2 is the second installment of 2014 drama Mardaani, which saw Rani in the lead role. Her character Shivani Shivaji Roy will again portray a spirited and gutsy cop in this movie who will stop at nothing to end crimes against women and child-trafficking. TMardaani 2 is another film in the long list of women-led films that Rani Mukerji has been a part of.

Mardaani 2 teaser is out

The official teaser was recently shared on Youtube which shows a team of cops entering a gated area with Rani, dressed in police costume, taking charge of the situation. It is a short 38-second teaser which ends with a ruthless Rani Mukerji taking off her leather belt for a few seconds and whipping the villain non-stop, with few onlookers in the background. Speaking of the villain, the teaser does not give any detail on who plays the main antagonist in Mardaani 2 as it manages to keep his face out of sight of its viewers. However, reports have started doing the rounds which claim a 21-year-old will be seen playing this role in Mardaani 2. What will be more interesting to see is whether this 21-year old will be as impactful as Tahir Raj Bhasin, who portrayed the main antagonist in the earlier film.

Mardaani 2 - Cast and release date

From the information available at the moment, Rani Mukerji and Jisshu Sengupta will be part of the cast. More updates on the film and cast members will soon follow. The first instalment of this film was highly appreciated by the fans who are now eagerly awaiting the release of Mardaani 2. Produced by Aditya Chopra and directed by Gopi Puthran, the film comes out December 13 this year.
