Her last rites were performed in the city at the Oshiwara crematorium on Tuesday evening. In the videos that have surfaced on social media, the veteran actor was seen arriving in an ambulance along with his mother’s mortal remains and carrying the urn considered significant for the funeral rituals. His son Malhar was also spotted with him.
Among the celebrities, Vicky Kaushal’s father, action and stunt director Sham Kaushal was seen walking along with the actor.
Nana used to live with his mother in a 1 BHK flat in the city. News of the ‘Welcome’ star’s ‘modest lifestyle’ despite being able to afford more luxury has often been reported. According to reports, the actor was not present with his mother when she passed away. She reportedly suffered from memory issues.
On the professional front, Nana Patekar was seen in the Marathi film 'Aapla Manus' last year. The film, directed by Satish Rajwade, was produced by the actor, Ajay Devgn and others. Nana had played the role of a police officer in the movie, which was a success critically as well as commercially. He was also seen in the movie 'Kaala' last year, a movie where he was pitted against South superstar Rajinikanth. Nana had played the role of Union Minister Haridev aka Hari Dhadha in the movie. In Hindi, the actor was last seen in 'Golmaal Again' in a guest appearance.
