Nana Patekar is considered as one of the most versatile actors in Bollywood. The Ab Tak Chappan actor made his debut in Gaman in 1978. Since then he has starred in multiple Marathi and Hindi films. Nana Patekar as also won the prestigious National Film Award. Here are Nana Patekar’s top five dialogues that have been famous throughout his career.
1. Yeshawant – Inspector Yeshawant Lohar
Ek Machhar, saala ek machhar insaan ko aadmi se hijada bana deta hai. Ek khatmal puri raat ko aapahij kar deta hai.Subha ghar se niklo ,bheed ka ek hissa bano. Sham ko ghar jao, daru piyo aur bacchee paida karo.
Nana Patekar gave this stunning dialogue delivery in his deep baritone voice in the movie Yeshawant. In the scene, Inspector Yeshawant can be seen in a jail scene while talking about the day-to-day life of a common man.
2. Parinda – Anna
Dhanda Kishan, Dhande mein koi kissi ka bhai nahi hota
In the scene, Anna can be seen explaining Kishen ( Jackie Shroff) that he killed Kishen’s brother Karan (Anil Kapoor) because it is all part of the business. Kishen fails to respond when Anna says this to him. Nana Patekar role in this film lead him to win a National Award that year and also a Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor.
3. Ab Tak Chappa – Inspector Sadhu Agashe
Ek police inspector joint commissioner ke saath kya argument karega? Unko bhi koi bada saahab bola hoga, um sab system ka hissa hai. System decide karta hai apun follow karta hai.
Ab Tak Chappan’s plot has been inspired by real-life cop Daya Nayak. In the scene, Inspector Agashe can be seen explaining the life of a cop who is stuck in the system and cannot waiver from the order he receives from the higher authorities.
4. Natsmarat – Ganpat Ramchandra Belwalkar
Koni ghar deta ka? Ghar. Eka toofanala kooni ghar deta ka?
In the film, Natsamarat Nana Patekar plays the role of theatre actor Ramchandra Belwalkar and his downfall after he and his wife are left homeless by their kids. In this scene, Belwalkar returns to the theatre stage in search of a house.
5. Welcome – Uday Shankar Shetty
Bhagwan diya sab kuch hai. Daulat hai. Shohrat hai. Izzat hai.
Nana Patekar’s role in Welcome became a legendary comic role for him. The actor had previously played the role of a gangster in Parinda but this comic role of Nana Patekar turned him into a lovable goon who just wants his sister to get married. This particular dialogue of his character Uday Shankar Shetty became his catchphrase throughout the movie.
