Sacred Games 2 controversies
Anurag Kashyap’s release ‘Sacred Games: Season 2’ disappointed the viewers in more than one way. With the plot receiving criticism, Sacred Games 2 also sparked unrest amongst the Sikh community. BJP MLA Manjinder Singh Sirsa accused Anurag Kashyap of hurting the religious sentiments of the Sikh community in the latest season, where, the protagonist Sartaj Singh, played by Saif Ali Khan throws away his ‘Kara’ (metal bangle). ‘Kara’ is an important component of the Sikh religion, it is one of the five ‘Kakaars’. The other four ‘Kakaars’ include, Kesh (uncut hair), Kangha (comb), Kachera (cotton loincloth) and Kirpan (iron dagger). Manjinder Singh Sirsa took to twitter to express his disregard over the scene.
I wonder why Bollywood continues to disrespect our religious symbols! Anurag Kashyap deliberatly puts this scene in #SacredGamesS2 where Saif Ali Khan throws his Kada in sea! A KADA is not an ordinary ornament. It’s the pride of Sikhs & a blessing of Guru Sahib @NetflixIndia @ANI pic.twitter.com/c2KMbJVrwA
