Taking to Twitter, they expressly addressed Karni Sena and the caste based outfit's chief Sukhdev Singh as they said that, "There is NO depiction of any love affair or anything offensive that will bring disrepute to the legacy of Rani LakshmiBai." Other than this statement, they further assured that the film is a tribute to the warrior queen and that she has been portrayed in the most dignified and respectable manner.

Here's what they tweeted out, "We hereby assure #KarniSena @sukhdevgogamedi & declare that there is NO depiction of any Love Affair or anything offensive that will bring any disrepute to the legacy of Rani LakshmiBai. #Manikarnika is a tribute that pays utmost respect to our Hero in the most dignified manner."

The whole controversy had started when in a letter, addressed to the producers, director and the writers of the film, the Karni Sena has warned that if the image of Rani Laxmibai is maligned in the film or if she is shown to be the lover of some Britisher, then the makers will face consequences. To this the 'Manikarnika' lead actress, Kangana Ranaut had responded saying that she too is a Rajput and that she will destroy them if they continue to 'harass' her over the film's release. After this, the Karni Sena had retaliated once again with a threatening video that promised consequences if their instructions were not followed.
