#MeToo: 'Lot Of Harassment Against Women Has Stopped', Says Shakti Kapoor
Shakti Kapoor, who had got flak over his last comment on the #MeToo movement, had a more sensitive reaction to it this time.
The impact of #MeToo can be gauged from the manner in which it has taken not just Bollywood, but even the other industries by storm. With the hype around #MeToo, media persons have not left the opportunity to ask even one celebrity about their opinion on it. Shakti Kapoor, who had reached Jodhpur for the shoot of Govinda-starrer 'Rangeela Raja', also shared his views on #MeToo when asked about it.
"It is a matter of discussion. I have always believed in it. I have a wife and a daughter. How can someone not respect them? Because a mother has given us birth. And with this movement, respect for women (has increased) and a lot of harassment against them has stopped," Shakti Kapoor said.
His opinion is surely a lot more sensitive this time after he received flak over his comments when asked about Tanushree Dutta's allegations of sexual misconduct against Nana Patekar. At that time, he had laughed it off, saying, "10 years ago, I was a kid.'

Some of the biggest names in the country have become casualties of the #MeToo movement. Nana Patekar has exited from 'Housefull 4', while Sajid Khan, who was directing the film, has also stepped down following allegations of sexual misconduct from multiple women. Even Bipasha Basu, Dia Mirza, and Esha Gupta spoke against his behaviour.
Vikas Bahl's alleged sexual assault of a former Phantom Films employee also made headlines with Kangana Ranaut, among others, sharing times when they felt uncomfortable in his company.

One of the most shocking allegations was against 'sanskaari' actor Alok Nath, with writer-producer Vinta Nanda accusing him of rape. Several other actresses came out in support of Vinta and revealed other instances of Alok's unacceptable behaviour. Sandhya Mridul and 'Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety' actress Deepika Amin have also shared their ordeals against him. Similar allegations surfaced against Subhash Ghai as well. Kailash Kher, Anu Malik, Luv Ranjan, Bhushan Kumar, Rajat Kapoor and many more names have also been accused in the movement.
