Panipat movie: Zeenat Aman joins the cast for a cameo performance

The period movie is set to release on December 6, 2019. Ashutosh Gowariker will direct the movie. He has previously directed and written historical films like Jodhaa Akbar and Mohenjo Daro. His next movie, Panipat, is one of the most anticipated war movies of 2019. In the leading roles, viewers will see Sanjay Dutt and Arjun Kapoor taking up the mantle of warriors. It will be the second war movie this year after Kesari.
Zeenat Aman returns to the silver screen
Taran Adarsh recently shared a tweet where he wrote that Zeenat Aman would have a cameo as Sakina Begum in the movie Panipat. In an interview, Ashutoshji told a leading daily that Zeenatji would be playing a prominent character in the film. The report added that she would be playing the leader of the province of Hoshiyarganj. She will not be leaving the confines of her kingdom due to the political tension in the area. She only ventures out when Arjun's Sadashiv Rao Bhau arrives to help her out.
Panipat also stars Kriti Sanon in the role of Parvati Bai. It was reported that there is a possibility of seeing her in an action-oriented role for the film. On the other hand, Arjun Kapoor is preparing for his role in the movie and is leaving no stone unturned for the movie. It was reported that he learnt horse riding for the movie. Sanjay Dutt will be playing the big baddie of this war flick. The story is of the third war of Panipat which took place on January 14, 1761, and was fought between the Marathas and the invading forces of the king of Afghanistan Ahmad Shah Abdali. The movie also features Mohnish Bahl, Kunal Kapoor, Milind Gunaji and Padmini Kolhapure. This is the fifth historical entertainer directed by Ashutosh Gowariker. The movie will be released under the banner of Ashutosh Gowariker Productions.
