From Supporting Actor to Leading Lady
The actor has established herself in the industry with around 12 movies in 8 years. Ever since her debut from Ladies vs Ricky Bahl, she grabbed the attention of the audience with her naive and outspoken Delhi girl character. Though she was playing a supporting role in Anushka Sharma and Ranveer Singh starrer film, her work succeeded to win Filmfare Award for Best Debutant.
After the film, she played the lead role in another project of Yash Raj Films titled Ishaqazaade. The movie gained positive reviews and the duo of debutant Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra was loved by masses. The third venture of Parineeti and YRF was Shuddh Desi Romance featuring Sushant Singh Rajput while marking the debut of Vaani Kapoor.
Later she collaborated with actor Sidharth Malhotra for Vini Mathew's directorial Hasee Toh Phasee. The performance of the film on the box-office was not well. After this film, her other films like Kill Dil and Dawat-e-Ishq also failed to at the box-office. It was Meri Pyari Bindu which introduced the crafted acting skills of Parineeti Chopra to the audience, although the film was a debacle at the box-office. Parineeti also started her singing career with the film and lent her voice to song Maana Ke Hum Yaar Nahin.
The fourth installment of director Rohit Shetty's Golmaal Series, gaining mixed reviews at the box office but ended up earning ₹311 crores making it a successful stint. The film till the date is the most successful film of Parineeti's career. After the success of Golmaal Again, the actor reunited with her previous co-stars Arjun Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra for her next projects Namastey England and Jabariya Jodi. The actor played the short but pivotal role in films like Dishoom starring John Abraham and Varun Dhawan, and Kesari starring Akshay Kumar. She also vocalised Teri Mitti, the song of the film Kesari.
