Pati Patni Aur Woh: Akshay Kumar made a big contribution to Kartik Aaryan's comedy

Kartik Aaryan is currently being tipped as the new Akshay Kumar of Bollywood. After taking on his senior’s role in the sequel of Bhool Bhulaiyaa, there are reports doing the rounds that he is also in contention to replace Khiladi Kumar in Hera Phera 3. Though there is still no confirmation on the latter, the youngster would no doubt be pleased to step into the shoes of Akshay. Getting the opportunity to do the Pad Man star’s films is not the only reason why Kartik should be thankful to Akshay. In fact, Akshay Kumar is also responsible for his recent movie Pati Patni Aur Woh. Akshay played a major role in the movie being made, as he was the one who suggested to the makers that they should remake the 1978 hit love triangle.

In a recent interview with a magazine, Juno Chopra, one of the producers of Pati Patni Aur Woh shared that the suggestion to remake the movie had come from Akshay Kumar. Juno revealed that the conversation took place when the actor met Juno and his family some months ago. The 2.0 star asked them why they weren’t remaking Pati Patni Aur Woh, a film made by Juno’s grandfather BR Chopra under their family banner BR Studios.

A natural inclination for the Chopras would’ve been to cast Akshay Kumar in the lead, since he suggested the remake. However, that was not the case. The makers were always keen to Kartik Aaryan in the lead role, Juno Chopra stated in the interview.

Pati Patni Aur Woh 

Apart from Kartik Aaryan, Pati Patni Aur Woh also stars Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday. The story revolves around Kartik’s character Chintu Tyagi, who is married to ‘Patni’ Bhumi Pednekar, but later falls in love with ‘Woh’ Ananya Panday. How he manages to keep both happy, without his secret coming out, is what the recently released trailer showcased.   

Pati Patni Aur Woh has been directed by Mudassar Aziz.  Apart from Juno Chopra and his mother Renu Ravi Chopra, T-Series is also a banner associated with the movie. The love triangle is gearing up for release on December 6.
