PM Modi meets Bollywood: Stars express 'honour', PM responds
As PM Modi met Bollywood stars to mark 150 years of Mahatma Gandhi, they expressed the honour of meeting the PM. The PM responded to some with endearing words
It was a starry gathering for a cause as the who’s who of B-Town came together for an event to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. PM Modi addressed the celebrities to take forward the principles of Mahatma Gandhi in a creative way, at the interaction, while Bollywood stars promised him that they would do so. One of the steps towards it was a special video featuring the stars that threw light on the teaching and beliefs of Mahatma Gandhi. Apart from the reason that brought them all together, it was also a proud moment for many stars of Bollywood to meet PM Narendra Modi. A lot of them shared strong words for the Prime Minister after meeting him and some were lucky enough to get a reply from him.
Best wishes
As Anil Kapoor shared the special video, PM Modi replied that he had met his daughter Sonam K Ahuja at the event, while conveying his best wishes to the entire family.
Varun Sharma, who had shared selfies with the Prime Minister, was one of those who PM replied to; “Happy to have met you Varun. Best wishes for your future endeavours,” he wrote.
Women power
A selfie involving some of the popular women in Bollywood like Kangana Ranaut, Jacqueline Fernandez, Ekta Kapoor, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari and Warda Nadiadwala got a brilliant response from PM. “Through popular culture, the message of empowering women has travelled far and wide. May this trend continue. May our Nari Shakti keep shining in the world of films and culture,” the Prime Minister replied.
Change within
As Rakul Preet Singh shared another one while supporting the #ChangeWithin movement, PM Modi responded, “Yes it does! Individual efforts can pave the way for transformative outcomes. @Rakulpreet"
Power of films
As Bhushan Kumar shared a snap of the PM with the major directors and producers, the latter replied, “Films connect and make our society better. Happy to have met you, @itsBhushanKumar.”
Gandhian values will work
Kapil Sharma tweeted about feeling delighted on meeting PM Modi, and that he wished the PM continues to take the country to new heights. PM thanked the actor-comedian and said that employing Mahatma Gandhi’s principles for entertainment will work wonders for the country.
The Prime Minister also praised Rajkumar Hirani for his special video to mark 150 years of Mahatma Gandhi, which he had shared on his Twitter account as well. “Keep up the good work, @RajkumarHirani . The coming generations will remember your stupendous role in spreading the message of Gandhi Ji through your work and taking the lead in the #ChangeWithin movement,” Modi wrote.
