On Friday, social media was abuzz with Alia Bhatt's father and filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt's death rumours. It even went further with his elder daughter Pooja Bhatt receiving calls inquiring about the same. Pooja later took to her Twitter handle to post pictures of his 'fit and fine' father and rubbished the death hoax going around. She clarified that her father did not have any heart attack and is certainly 'not dead'. She concluded by saying that he is 'his usual self, living dangerously and kicking' (in his red shoes).
Talking to an entertainment portal, Mahesh Bhatt's brother Mukesh said: "My brother is perfectly fine. He is hale and hearty. And, he is hectically involved in making the most memorable film of his life Sadak 2." Why did this happen suddenly, you may wonder? It is because CINTAA (Cine and TV artists association) took to their Facebook handle to post about Gujarati actor Mahesh Bhatt's demise. People confused it with filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and the rumours started floating immediately. Take a look -
To the rumour mongers and the ones who called in a genuine state of panic upon hearing that my father @MaheshNBhatt had a heart attack and is dead, here is ample proof that he is his usual self, living dangerously and kicking! In red shoes no less! 🙏🙏🙏 pic.twitter.com/iwxtvpfOSO

MAHESH BHATT'S 'SADAK 2'
Mahesh Bhatt is set to return to direction with "Sadak 2", after a hiatus of 19 years. Alia, who is also part of the cast of the film, which is a sequel to Bhatt's 1991 film, made the announcement on her father's 70th birthday. "On your 70th birthday you have given me the greatest present I could ask and dream for. Your are directing me! 'Sadak 2' is a dream come true..."
This is the first time Bhatt will direct the actor. Pooja Bhatt and Sanjay Dutt, the original leads, also star in the film, along with new entrant Aditya Roy Kapur. The original film was the story of a taxi driver (Sanjay) trying to rescue the woman he loves (Pooja) from a brothel. It also featured Sadashiv Amrapurkar as Maharani, brothel's owner and Soni Razdan.
"Sadak 2" is slated to release on March 25, 2020.
