Prabhas: A list of the actor's films that failed at the Box Office
With the Bahubali series, Prabhas is now one of the most popular actors in Bollywood. Already known in the south, here are a few films of the actor that failed
Prabhas, who rose to Bollywood fame with the Bahubali series, is now one of the most popular actors in Bollywood. Already a renowned name in the South-Indian industry, the actor recently made his Bollywood debut with Saaho alongside Shraddha Kapoor. The film quickly gained wide popularity with the audience making about ₹294 crores on its opening weekend. But in order to rise to fame, every actor has to go through their share of ups and downs. Here are a few films of the actor that did not do well at the Box office.
Films of Prabhas that failed at the Box Office
Rebel
Rebel is a Telugu film directed by Lawrence Raghuvendra. Prabhas plays the character of Rishi in this film. The film’s plot revolves around Rishi setting on a quest to avenge the murder of his parents. The film also starred Tamannah Bhatia and Deeksha Seth. The film only managed to make about ₹33 crores on its opening weekend.
Bujjigaadu
Directed by Puri Jagannadh, the film starred Trisha Krishnan and Mohan Babu alongside Prabhas. The actor plays the character of Bujji in this one, who leaves home during his childhood because of a fight with his girlfriend. Bujji ends up in Chennai for 12 years and meets his girlfriend again. The plot then revolves around how the duo tries to make it work once again. Even though the cast of the film was much awaited, the film failed to win the audience at the box office.
Munna
Starring Ileana D’Cruz, Prakash Raj and Prabhas, the film is directed by Vamshi Paidipally. Munna, a college student who is unaware of his father’s identity, takes on a local gangster, Khakha. He also takes his revenge from him for exploiting his own mother for money. Even with good cast, the film failed because the plot and the duo's love story was not planned properly.
Pournami
Starring Prabhas and Trisha Krishnan, the film is directed by Prabhu Deva. A girl trained in a ceremonial dance form, suddenly disappears. Just then, a man (Prabhas) with a secret past arrives and offers to train the girl’s younger sister in the same dance form. Even though Prabhu Deva is a celebrated director, especially in the south, this film failed to grasp the audience's attention.
Chakram
This film is directed by Krishna Vamsi. It stars Asin and Prabhas in the lead. The film's plot revolves around the life of a medical student with a secret, who suddenly abandons his bride-to-be and hometown. Soon his past eventually catches up with him. Both Asin and Prabhas are popular stars from the south but the film's story failed to appeal to the audience.
