The son of the late film producer Suryanarayana Raju and Riva Kumari, Prabhas, is a huge superstar in the South Indian film industry. A few years back he made his debut in Bollywood with the cameo role in Action Jackson. With Baahubali, the South actor found a pan-India fan base. Baahubali: The Beginning & The Conclusion
This period drama franchise has embedded its name in the Indian Film History. Unlike other Telugu movies of the actor, the Baahubali franchise managed to achieve a cult fan-following in other States of India as well. According to IMDb trivia, Baahubali: The Beginning established a Guinness record for making the world's largest poster for a movie at Kochi during the film’s Malayalam audio release. Reportedly, the poster had an area of 4,793.65 m2. This record has since been broken with a 5,969.61m2 poster for the film MSG 2: The Messenger (2015). The sequel of the battle for kingdom and throne continued with Baahubali: The Conclusion.
Mirchi
The movie was dubbed as Khatarnak Khiladi in Hindi. Reportedly, the movie was helmed by director Koratala Siva. It's his first movie as a director, though he had written a story for many movies before. The plot of the story is about a man who returns to his country in order to reform his girlfriend's violent family, with whom he seems to share a strange past connection. According to IMDb, the genre of the movie is action and drama.
Chatrapathi (2005)
Prabhas was nominated for Filmfare Best Actor Award in 2006 for this movie. The plot revolves around the displaced Sri Lankans in a Vizag port, who are ruled by a local rowdy. The story is about Sivaji, who overcomes this oppression and reunites with his long lost mother and brother. The genre of the film is action and drama. The director S.S.Rajamouli helms the movie. The movie was the first time that the actor-director collaborated before the Baahubali franchise.
Darling
The movie was helmed by director A.Karunakaran. Prabhas was cast opposite Kajal Agarwal in this romantic-comedy. It is one of the most popular movies of Prabhas. The plot revolves around two friends who get separated in their childhood when the girl has to move to Switzerland with her family. The pair meets years later, but sadly the girl fails to recognise the boy. The movie earned a worldwide box-office collection of $120,958, i.e. Rs. 8,708,976. The pairing of Prabhas and Kajal was a success at the box-office. The duo later appeared in the movie Mr Perfect.
