Prassthanam is all set to release on 20th September 2019. Manisha Koirala, Jackie Shroff and Sanjay Dutt are coming together for this movie after two decades. The trio last collaborated on the 1999 release Kartoos directed by Mahesh Bhatt. While Manisha had played Nargis, Sanjay Dutt’s real-life mother in his biopic Sanju, in Prassthanam she plays his wife. Talking about her character she says that the name of her character is Sukmini Pratap Singh and she is the central figure in the family set-up. Her character is courageous despite the turmoil that is going on in the family. Koirala recently said that Prassthanam is a political drama and which she has to endure and keep calm in order to do the right thing.

Prassthanam is being produced by Sanjay Dutt’s wife, Maanayata Dutt. The movie stars Sanjay Dutt, Manisha Koirala, Jackie Shroff, Ali Faizal, Chunky Panday, Amyra Dastur and Satyajeet Dubey. It is the Hindi remake of a 2010 Telegu film of the same name. This political drama is being directed by Deva Katta who had also directed the Telegu hit.

In the teaser launch of Prassthanam earlier in July, Manisha Koirala had said that working with Sanjay Dutt in his production is an honour for her, like her dream come true. She thanks Maanayata for giving her the role and opportunity. Manisha also adds that working with Sanjay Dutt and Jackie Shroff feels like coming home. While talking about her working experience with both of them, she said that it is a pleasure to work with Sanjay Dutt as well as Jackie Shroff. She described her first day of shooting for Prassthanam with both of them and it was really wonderful to see them on the same set. She said that she gets de-stressed when working with somebody she is fond of, having a friendship of 30 years.

Manisha Koirala has known Sanjay Dutt for more than two decades now. The duo had earlier paired for movies like Khauff (2000), Baaghi (2000), Yalgaar (1992) and a couple of more. Talking about her experience of working with Sanjay Dutt, Manisha says how the actor had always been there for her.

Upcoming Movies of the stars

Manisha Koirala’s upcoming movies include 99 Songs and India Sweets and Spices, both slated to release sometime in 2019. Her other movie, Homing Pigeons is still in pre-production. She is also involved in a lot of Cancer Awareness program. Sanjay Dutt, on the other hand, has several films lined up Panipat, Sher, Prithviraj, Sadak 2 and many more.
