Priyanka Chopra’s The Sky Is Pink recently hit the screens on October 11, 2019. The film is based on a true story. It also stars Farhan Akhtar, Zaira Wasim, and Rohit Saraf. Despite having a great cast and receiving good critic reactions, the film had a slow start at the Box office. The film only managed to make about ₹2.50 crores on Day 1.
The Sky Is Pink: Box Office Update
The Sky Is Pink had a much slower start than expected. The film managed to make only about ₹10 crores on the first five days of its opening. Priyanka Chopra was seen promoting the film even on international platforms. The star even went on the American talk show, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to promote the film. A video of the actor taking on the 'Hot Ones challenge' was released on the show’s official YouTube channel. Hot Ones is a challenge where the participants eat hot chicken wings while answering questions. The spice level increase with each piece.

The film received a standing ovation the Toronto Film Festival but failed to grasp the audience’s attention at the Box Office. According to early estimates, the film minted about ₹1 crore on Day 5, bringing the total collection to about ₹10 crores.
The Sky Is Pink is directed by Shonali Bose and produced by Roy Kapoor Films. The film is based on a true story about the life of a girl named Aisha Chaudhary. Aisha was born with SCID and had to undergo a bone marrow transplant as a baby. Due to extensive chemotherapy following the transplant, Aisha was later diagnosed with a rare disease, named Pulmonary Fibrosis. Aisha passed away in 2015, but she managed to inspire millions before that through her talks and her book, My Little Epiphanies.
