Priyanka Chopra expresses delight over Bachchan receiving Phalke award

Ever since it was announced that Amitabh Bachchan will be awarded with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke award, several Bollywood celebrities have expressed their happiness and congratulated the veteran actor upon being selected as a recipient. Recently, Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar also wished the veteran actor for being conferred with India's highest award in cinema. Priyanka Chopra, who will be seen alongside Farhan Akhtar in their next flick, 'The Sky is Pink' also said, a book can be compiled on Amitabh Bachchan's professionalism. The movie also stars 'Dangal' fame Zaira Wasim and Rohit Saraf.
'He is the most deserving person', says Priyanka Chopra
Priyanka Chopra who has worked with Bachchan in movies like 'Waqt: The Race Against Time' and 'God Tussi Great Ho' called him a legend and said anyone who gets into Bollywood aspires to work with him, meet him or just imitate his style. She was quoted saying:
"His professionalism and personality are worth compiling in a book. The kind of characters that he has played and the roles that he opted for, makes him the most deserving person for the prestigious award. I wonder why he hasn't received the award until now and why it took so long for people to him the award."
Farhan Akhtar, who teamed up with Amitabh Bachchan in 'Wazir' expressed his happiness and declared that the actor is the most deserving person for the Dada Saheb Phalke award. He also communicated his delight over the fact that his upcoming film with Priyanka Chopra and Rohit Saraf is releasing on the veteran actor's birthday.
"Not only the Phalke award, but if there is any other award, I am sure he deserves that too. It is a double celebration for us because not only is the film releasing on October 11, it is also my birthday on that day", he said.
The Sky Is Pink to release on October 11
'The Sky Is Pink', was screened at the 44th Toronto International Film Festival earlier this month. It reportedly received a four-minute standing ovation. The movie is now all set to hit Indian screens and from the looks of its trailer, there's a lot to expect from the movie after its overwhelmingly positive reception in the international circles. Actors Zaira Wasim and Rohit Suresh Saraf will play the role of Priyanka and Farhan’s children. The movie also marks the comeback of Priyanka Chopra in Bollywood after three years.
