Priyanka Chopra has not done any Bollywood film for over three years now, but it wouldn’t be wrong to say that her life has changed completely since then. The actor has become a household name in America, courtesy her multiple ventures in Hollywood. Now, as the ‘Desi Girl’ returns to Bollywood with The Sky is Pink, her international popularity is doing wonders to her latest venture. The actor has revealed that the promotions of The Sky is Pink are being carried on mainstream American TV shows. PeeCee expressed her excitement to see how this idea will be received by the American audience, though she is clueless about it too.
First of its kind
In a recent interview with a portal, Priyanka Chopra revealed that she had never witnessed a Hindi film being promoted on mainstream American television, something that is set to happen with The Sky is Pink. The actor shared that she is ‘excited’ to see how the American audiences would respond to a Hindi language film on some of the shows that she will be shooting for in the next few days. PeeCee termed the idea of the promotions of a Hindi film on American TV as ‘experimental’ since it was unprecedented and she felt she couldn't predict how it would work out.
Priyanka also said that film promotions were extremely important, but it was the same everywhere. The Mary Kom star felt that when one takes a lot of effort into making a movie, it was important to let people know that the movie is releasing. Though that doesn’t guarantee people flocking to the theatres, it was important to create that awareness, Priyanka shared.
The Sky is Pink has been directed by Shonali Bose, who had previously helmed the critically acclaimed Margarita with a Straw starring Kalki Koechlin and Sayani Gupta. The Sky is Pink also stars Farhan Akhtar, Zaira Wasim and Rohit Saraf. The film has been produced by Priyanka Chopra, Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur. The movie hits the theatres on October 11. The story of the movie revolves around Priyanka-Farhan's relationship, from being a couple to getting married, and what happens after their daughter Zaira is diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis.
