Priyanka has never shied away from taking a stand about matters of great importance. Here are three times that she proved to the world that she is a true feminist.
1. "Also, Meghan Markle, actress...Suits... her achievements, mmm-hmm, just saying..."
While promoting her Hollywood film, Baywatch, Priyanka Chopra came on The Wendy Williams Show. In one segment, the host of the popular daytime talk show, Wendy Williams, asked about her equation with actor Meghan Markle. She addressed Markle as Prince Harry’s girlfriend. To this, Priyanka replied saying that she is also an actress on popular drama show Suits. This shows how PeeCee focuses on individuality in women and would rather not have them defined by the partners.
2. “He gets added to who I am”
Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas had a dreamy wedding in 2018. When Priyanka appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, she was asked about her move of adding her husband’s name to hers. She replied saying that she has always been old-school regarding matters of love. She added that adding her husband’s name implies that they are becoming a family and it does not in any way take away her identity.
3. #ItsTime for 50/50
Priyanka Chopra is an ambassador for UNICEF. She has always been vocal about gender pay disparity across sectors. Last year, Priyanka took to her Instagram handle to explain to her followers what equal pay and gender inequality is. She also shed light on why such issues are not a matter of concern for women only.
Priyanka has always proved that she is a boss lady. She is a role model for women across the world. Priyanka has been known to break barriers and stereotypes with a mind of her own. On the work front, PeeCee will be next seen in Shonali Bose’s The Sky is Pink opposite Farhan Akhtar. The film is slated to release on October 11, 2019.
