Priyanka Chopra’s mother Madhu Chopra reveals the reason why son Siddharth’s marriage was called off

Priyanka Chopra’s brother Siddharth Chopra and ex-fiancee Ishita Kumar’s marriage being called off is making headlines. While the sibling duo’s mother Madhu Chopra confirmed the news but tried to brush off the reason behind the same earlier, she has now revealed that Siddharth was not ready to take the plunge and needed more time.

After several reports surrounding the cancellation of the marriage just a few days before the wedding surfaced, Madhu Chopra had confirmed the news in an interview with a portal. The doctor-film producer stated that it was the ex-couple's mutual decision.  

Ishita recently underwent surgery and that also got dragged into the speculation surrounding the development. 

In another interview, Chopra Sr had stated that the family is ‘disappointed’ with the turn of events, but there was not much they could do if someone is unwell. She had also wished Ishita a quick recovery to full fitness.

In a latest interview, Madhu Chopra has stated that Siddharth was not ready for marriage yet and added that he needed more time. 

Siddharth was earlier engaged to a woman named Kanika Mathur in 2014, before they parted ways.  

Siddharth and Ishita had formalised their relationship in a roka ceremony on February 27. Pictures of the engagement had gone viral and even Priyanka and her husband Nick Jonas had come specifically for the same.
