Rajkummar Rao reveals why he couldn't sign up for Karan Johar's Dostana 2. Meanwhile, his next film 'Made in China' is all set to release on October 25.
Did you know that Rajkummar Rao was Karan Johar's first choice for Dostana 2? Yes! The 'Made in China' actor was reportedly approached for the popular sequel before Kartik Aaryan but the actor couldn't take up the project because of 'Dates'. In an interview with a leading tabloid, Rao said that he is shooting with Priyanka Chopra during the same time. He further went on to say that director Colin D'Cunha is his classmate from FTII and Dostana 2 is a great script.
Filmmaker Karan Johar's upcoming production 'Dostana 2' is the much-awaited sequel to his 2008 blockbuster 'Dostana' starring Abhishek Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra, and John Abraham. Besides Kartik Aaryan, 'Dostana 2' also stars Janhvi Kapoor and Bollywood debutant Lakshya in the lead. The first film of the franchise-'Dostana' was directed by Tarun Mansukhani.
Made In China – more about the film
Made In China is a drama-comedy which stars Rajkummar Rao, Mouni Roy, and Boman Irani in the lead roles. It revolves around the life of a struggling Gujarati entrepreneur Raghu Mehta, played by Rajkummar Rao, who embarks on a journey to China in order to make his business flourish. Mouni Roy will be seen essaying the role of his wife, Rukmini. The film has been directed by Mikhil Musale, who won the best director for his 2016 film Wrong Side Raju. and produced by Dinesh Vijan. Made in China was originally set to hit theatres on August 15 will now be releasing on October 25 this month during Diwali. It will clash at the box office with Farhad Samji’s Housefull 4 and Tushar Hiranandani’s Saand Ki Aankh which are also releasing on the same date.
